Pinole Rotarian of the Year: Jerry and Judy Cates

Service club honors founding and long-time members.

Pinole Patch thanks Rotary Club of Pinole Secretary Patrick Rei for sending this announcement and to Jamie Cepernich for the photos.

The Rotary Club of Pinole held its annual Demotion Dinner on June 21, celebrating the yearly transition of club administrations and honoring members who exemplify Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.”

Outgoing President Don Patterson proudly bestowed the award of Rotarian of the year to Jerry and Judy Cates, who are affectionately called Mr. & Mrs. Pinole Rotary by club members.

Jerry is a charter member of the club that was established in 1972, past president and has served on its board of directors for many years and served as the Club Treasure this year. Judy joined the club in 1987; she is also a past president and has served on the board for many years as well and will be serving as the Club Administration Committee Chair for the upcoming year.
