A page on the City of Pinole's website lists critical issues facing Pinole. The issues are not prioritized in any particular order, but all are well-known to people who pay attention to activity at city hall.
The introduction on the page refers to matters "that directly affect residents and business owners, and topics with high budgetary impact." Here are the issues:
- pending expiration of the utility users tax
- managing and balancing the budget
- delivery of fire services
- required upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant
- installation of solar energy at city facilities
