Rain Predicted for Next Few Days in Pinole, Hercules and East Bay

Weather forecasters say snow is even possible in nearby higher elevations.

Weather forecasters are predicting rain for the San Francisco Bay Area during the next few days, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expected the rain to start at around sunrise Sunday morning, travel south through the day and linger into Monday.

Showers will be light Easter Sunday, forecasters said. A second wave of the storm will bring rain starting Monday night that continues into Tuesday.

Forecasters expect the heaviest rain to be during the time of Tuesday morning’s commute. The second storm will be colder and stronger and rain will be heavy at times.

Forecasters said thunder is not out of the question. Winds will be from the south and strong and gusty during the second storm, especially along the coast and on the ridges of hills. Snow is possible at elevations above 3,500 feet.

Forecasters are warning people with plans for spending time outdoors Sunday and during the first half of the week to check the latest forecast to plan their activities.
