Richmond Woman Arrested for Trying to Run Man Over in Motel Parking Lot

Sandra Walker was arrested on suspicion of multiple charges.

A Richmond woman was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon early this morning after allegedly vandalizing a vehicle in a motel parking lot and attempting to run over the vehicle’s owner, police said. The male victim, whose identity is currently being withheld, was staying at the motel to separate himself from his assailant, according to police.

Police responded to the incident at 5:38 a.m. after 22-year-old Sandra Walker self-reported that she had just committed an act of vandalism. The victim found Walker near his vehicle and attempted to call the cops but while he was waiting she allegedly tried to run him over, forcing the man to move out of the way, police said. Walker was arrested without incident while trying to flee the scene. The subsequent investigation revealed she’d left two young children, ages 2 and 4, unattended during the assault, according to police.

During a welfare check on the children at her apartment, police said officers found evidence of drug use within easy reach of the two children. Child Protective Custody later removed the children from Walker’s home. Walker was arrested on suspicion of attempted assault with a deadly weapon, willful infliction of corporal injury, child endangerment and vandalism.
