Strange Encounter Leads To Arrest By Hercules Police
The incident happened New Year's Eve.

HERCULES, CA — A 30-year-old man from Dixon who told police he had an outstanding arrest warrant turned out to be wrong, but they arrested him anyway in Hercules on New Year's Eve.
An officer stopped a pedestrian in the 800 block of Willow Avenue, just east of Interstate Highway 80 around 8:45 a.m. Monday. He allegedly refused to identify himself or follow commands given by the officer, but police said he did state that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
They detained him, despite his refusal to follow commands, and eventually identified the suspect and found out that he was not wanted for arrest or on probation. He was, however, arrested on suspicion of resisting or delaying a peace officer.
