Woman, 23, Arrested on Suspicion of Stabbing Brother

Police say the victim was stabbed by either a screwdriver or a knife.

Police said a 23-year-old woman was arrested Thursday morning in Pinole on suspicion of stabbing her brother in the neck during an argument. At 7:35 a.m., Pinole police responded to a reported assault in the 300 block of Danny Court. Police said officers discovered a victim bleeding from the head and neck after a suspect, identified as Alexia Padilla, allegedly stabbed him.

Officers reportedly found Padilla bleeding from her hands, standing in the middle of the road arguing with the victim, her brother. An investigation revealed that a verbal altercation led to the victim being stabbed by either a screwdriver or a knife, police said. Police believe her to be the only suspect in the stabbing.

Padilla was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police said. She has been booked into Martinez Detention Facility. The incident is still under investigation. Police said the victim’s injuries to not appear to be life-threatening.
