Yet Another Crime In El Cerrito Supermarket: Shopper Pulls Gun On Guard
On Monday, a bank robbery and an attempt were reported inside grocery stores in El Cerrito and Hercules.

An alleged shoplifter brandished a firearm on Sunday afternoon inside an El Cerrito grocery store when the store’s security contacted him, police said today. At 12:45 p.m., El Cerrito police officers responded to the Safeway at 11450 San Pablo Ave. based on reports of a suspect brandishing a firearm.
Police learned that the suspect stole merchandise from the grocery store, then pulled the gun on store security when they contacted him about it.
The suspect then fled and no one was injured. Police described him as a black man standing 5 feet 10 inches, weighing roughly 200 pounds. He was described as wearing a black puffy jacket, a black beanie, dark pants and teal shoes.
