• SLO County beach town unveils new $51 million police and fire complex. See inside (sanluisobispo.com) — Pismo Beach’s police and firefighters are moving into a brand-new $51 million Public Safety Center on Bello Street, doubling police space and uniting fire crews and engines under one roof. Funded largely by hotel bed taxes and parking revenue, the complex promises faster response times, better coordination between departments, and modern facilities that replace aging, temporary quarters. 
• Arroyo Grande water rates expected to increase because of lawsuit (calcoastnews.com) — Pismo Beach water customers are expected to see higher bills as part of a multimillion‑dollar legal fight over how Lopez Lake water is managed for endangered species. The city’s share of lawsuit costs already tops $400,000, with Arroyo Grande paying the largest portion. Other Lopez Lake communities will also help fund the appeal, while Nipomo customers could eventually see rate relief.
