Escaped County Inmate Found, Arrested

Police later learned she gave authorities her older sister's name when she was arrested. [Breaking]

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA – A woman who escaped from San Pablo police as they were booking her into jail in Martinez on Friday was arrested again in Richmond Tuesday, according to San Pablo police.

Nakiya Hutcherson, 27, was booked into jail in Martinez after she was arrested at a home in Richmond where she had been hiding, police said.

She managed to escape from police when they pulled into the driveway of the Martinez Detention Facility on Friday. They were booking her into jail on suspicion of misdemeanor vandalism and trespassing, police said.

Police searched the area for her but called it off a few hours later because of the nonviolent nature of her alleged crimes.

After a public plea for information about her, police found out that she had given authorities her older sister's name when she was arrested.

Police said she has been charged with felony identity theft, escaping police custody, vandalism and trespassing.
