Lemon Trees Donated to Sequoia School In Pleasant Hill

The city's new Yalla Mediterranean restaurant gave and helped plant the trees -- a fresh, healthy and flavorful symbol of zest!

Yalla, a new Mediterranean restaurant in Pleasant Hill, donated two lemon trees to Sequoia Elementary School on Thursday -- as lemons are an important ingredient in Mediterranean cuisine.

The donated lemon trees were planted in the Pleasant Hill school’s garden for the students to enjoy.

Yalla – meaning “Let’s go!” in several Mediterranean-area dialects – opened in downtown Pleasant Hill in December. A new locale will open in Walnut Creek this spring.
