Retired in Pleasant Hill? How About A Volunteer Gig With The CHP?
The California Highway Patrol of Contra Costa is seeking seniors for its volunteer program.

Officials with the Contra Costa Area Office of the California Highway Patrol are saying thank you to some of the county’s unsung heroes.
These heroes are the 18 seniors who make up the office’s senior volunteer program.
The seniors keep children safe around school zones by being visually present. They help teach traffic safety programs, help maintain patrol vehicles, keep critical equipment operating and process essential paperwork, among other tasks, officials said.

Officials said the seniors do not ask for praise but find their reward knowing they are making a difference in others lives.
