Police Arrest East Bay Woman On Attempted Murder Charges After Suspected Arson
Officials say after an argument, she set fire to a Lafayette home with numerous people inside.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA – A Lafayette woman has been arrested in connection to a residential fire that broke out on Friday, Lafayette police officers said.
Officers responded to the initial report at about 1:25 p.m. By the time they arrived, the burning two-story home in the 3300 block of Betty Lane was fully engulfed in flames, officers said.
Firefighters from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District knocked down the fire by 2:40 p.m., and police officers confirmed that all of the house's residents had safely left.

One individual suffered burns, police officers said. One person declined medical attention for a foot injury, and another victim was transported to a hospital for smoke inhalation, a fire department spokesman
said.
Nine residents were displaced as a result of the fire, a fire department spokesman said.

In talking to the house's residents, officers learned that two of the occupants had had an argument prior to the fire, leading one individual to try to burn the house down.
Lisa Stevens, 53, was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of attempted murder and arson. She is being held on $750,000 bail, officers said.
According to a Crime Bulletin from the City, "Several of the occupants of the home were treated for injuries by CONFIRE at the scene. One elderly resident of the home was taken to a local hospital for precautionary medical treatment. Two dogs were inside of the home at the time of the fire, one has still not been located and is believed to have perished in the fire."
