National Safety Month

National Safety Month is upon us, and a Staples poll has revealed interesting statistics about workplace safety in small businesses. I've highlighted stats from the Western region:

     *More than 7 of 10 respondents say natural disasters of 2012 have not caused a reassessment of safety plans.

     *52 percent of respondents feel their businesses are not prepared for earthquakes or floods.

     *1/3 of respondents say their company communicates what to expect in the case of an emergency at the last minute.
