1-Alarm Fire Displaces Pleasanton Family

The fire likely started in the attic and spread to the second floor of the two-story home on Genovesio Drive.

PLEASANTON, CA — A Pleasanton family is displaced after a one-alarm fire broke out in their attic, according to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.

Firefighters from LPFD and the Alameda County Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at 5285 Genovesio Drive at 10:20 p.m., according to LPFD Battalion Chiefs Kurtis Dickey and Dan Moyles. Crews found that flames had spread from the attic into the master bedroom and closet on the second floor. After ensuring no one was inside the house, firefighters extinguished the fire in about 25 minutes, Dickey said.

No one was injured, but the second floor suffered moderate damage, and the family of four is displaced, Moyles said.

The fire is under investigation but is not considered suspicious in nature, according to Moyles.
