$10K Scholarship Available To Pleasanton Students
The David Yandell Living Legacy Service Scholarship, named after the longtime AVHS teacher and counselor, is open to graduating seniors.
PLEASANTON, CA — The Three Valleys Community Foundation is accepting applications for the David Yandell Living Legacy Service Scholarship, a $10,000 award presented annually to an outstanding graduating senior from Amador Valley High School.
The scholarship is offered in partnership with AVHS, and honors a students who "exemplifies leadership, integrity, and a deep commitment to service within both the school and the broader community."
The scholarship was established in tribute to David Yandell, a longtime AVHS teacher and counselor who mentored students for decades. The scholarship was created by David and Rosie's son Keith, a 1997 graduate of AVHS, to celebrate his father's enduring example of service.

“In our family, education has always been about more than academics; it’s about character, compassion, and showing up for others,” Keith said in a statement. “This scholarship is our way of honoring my dad’s lifelong belief that service to the community is one of the greatest measures of success.”
The scholarship is open to AVHS seniors graduating in 2026 who have demonstrated leadership and sustained service to school and community. Priority consideration is given to applicants who have demonstrated financial need, and/or have parents working in education.
