Alameda County Fair 2016: Adorable Animals; Breathtaking Rides; Student Artwork

Pleasanton, CA— The popular Alameda County Fair returned to Pleasanton last week. Thousands of people from all over the East Bay make the trip each summer to take part in the quintessential fair experience.

This year’s newest fair attractions include the Red, White & Brew Fest, which is held at the Budweiser Grandstand, and features 30 craft breweries. Tomas Garcilazo, the top trick roper in the world, will perform at the fair this season.

The Chinese Acrobats of Hebei have joined as part of the incredible fair attractions and the "Elvis Burger" is this season's must-try fair food item. Enjoy motocross, monster trucks and demolition derby in the newly expanded action sports arena.

2016 Alameda County Fair Information:

  • The fair opens on June 15 and runs through July 4.
  • Hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday each week, plus Monday, July 4 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.
  • Carnival Hours: Tues -Thurs, 12 p.m. to closing, Fri-Sun, 11 a.m. to closing
  • Horse Racing: June 16 - 19, June 23 --26, and July 1 - 4
  • Big O Tires FREE Concerts: 8 p.m. – 9:15 p.m., nightly. Special effects fireworks show with video celebrating local youth immediately following concerts.
  • Monday, July 4: Blues Festival, 1-9 p.m.
  • Fireworks Spectacular featuring Oakland East Bay Symphony, 9:30 p.m., Budweiser Grandstand
