Alameda County Fair 2017 Opening Day

Learn out about the authentic cattle drive, free and discounted tickets, concert lineup, fantastic new rides, fair food and horse racing.

PLEASANTON, CA — Friday marks the opening day of the Alameda County Fair 2017. To celebrate, the fair is making quite an impression this year by bringing an authentic cattle drive right through downtown Pleasanton. The fair opens with ‘Kids FREE Fridays’ and a concert performance by Sugar Ray.

The Alameda County Fair runs June 16 to July 9 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.


Don't miss the new food finds at the fair this year! Do you plan to try a Flaming Cheetos Corn Dog or maybe an Orange Chicken Burrito? On Thursdays, fairgoers can try small bites of fantastic fair food creations for just $2.

The fair has announced the full lineup for its popular Big O Tires concert series this summer. Open seating is free with fair admission, and diehard fans can reserve Premium Floor seats in advance to see their favorite performers up close. Dates: June 16-July 9 (Closed June 19, 20, 26, 27)
Hours: 11 a.m.-11 p.m. daily
Carnival Hours: Wed-Thurs 12 p.m. to closing, Fri-Sun 11 a.m. to closing, July 3 & 4 11 a.m. to closing
Horse Racing: June 22-25, June 29-July 2, July 4 & July 7-9
Big O Tires FREE Concerts: 8 p.m.-9:15 p.m. nightly. Fireworks show immediately following at Concert Lawn.
Tuesday, July 4th: Blues Festival, 1-9 p.m., Fireworks Spectacular featuring Oakland East Bay Symphony, 9:30 p.m. at Budweiser Grandstand.

  • Seniors (62+) -- $10

  • Kids FREE Fridays (12 and under): June 16, 23, 30 & July 7, UNTIL 5 p.m.
  • Clothing Drive for Foster Kids presented by Mattress Firm: June 21, UNTIL 5 p.m. — Bring a brand new clothing item and receive FREE admission & $1 rides
  • Feed the Need Food Drive benefitting Alameda County Community Food Bank: June 28, UNTIL 5 p.m. — Bring 4 non-perishable food items and receive FREE admission & $1 rides)
  • First Responders Day: July 4th – Free admission until 5PM, check website for details
  • July 5 - $1 Admission & $1 Rides until 5 p.m.
