Alameda County Vector Control Services for Pleasanton Residents

Vector Control services relating to rodents, wildlife insects and arachnids in Pleasanton.

Alameda County Vector Control Services District (ACVCSD), a division of the Alameda County Department of Environmental Health, provides vector related services to Pleasanton residents. According to California Health and Safety Code Section 116108 “Vector" means any animal capable of transmitting the causative agent of human disease or capable of producing human discomfort or injury, including, but not limited to, mosquitoes, flies, other insects, ticks, mites, and rats.

With the prodigious amount of rainfall our area received this winter we can anticipate an ample amount of vectors and nuisances as the year progresses. It is always a good time to check the integrity of the exterior of your home, to make sure there are no openings for rodents, wildlife, or other small creatures to gain access. Pest-proofing inspections are a free service that we offer and a little preventive maintenance will go a long way towards peace of mind. Generally, we provide pest identification service, evaluate vector related situations and advise on remediation, or control efforts.

As you can see in the chart, rats were the number one request for service call in Pleasanton during 2016, with raccoons in second place, with a total of 375 requests for service. In the "various" category are lumped in sundry other pests with requests for service totals less than four, such as ticks, ants, spiders and hogs.
