Ashwin Anugraham earns Eagle Scout Award
Eagle Project refurbishes Amador Valley Baseball Dugouts
Ashwin Anugraham has qualified to become an Eagle Scout and received his award at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor held in July of this year. Ashwin is the son of Rupesh Anugraham and Rajsree Munikrishnan of Pleasanton. He is a member of Troop 941 sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6298. Ashwin appreciates the hard work and dedication of his Scoutmaster, Jim McMillin.
Ashwin has been active in Scouting and has held leadership positions of Patrol Leader and Den Chief. Some things Ashwin has loved about scouting have been making lifelong friends and going on camping trips, exploring new places and having fun in the outdoors. Scouting introduced him to mountain biking, and it has been one of his favorite things to do outdoors since. Scouting has provided him with many memories of good times.
For his Eagle project, Ashwin refurbished the dugouts for his Amador Valley High School baseball team. His project team restored two dugouts by reinstalling the damaged posts with new ones and the posts were painted as well as the benches inside the dugout. The completed project looked great with the new paint matching the styling of the existing color. There were seven scouts and three adults helping on the project for a total of nearly 130 hours worked.
