Boy Scouts Want Your Christmas Trees: Pleasanton Troop 941
Sign up now to have the troop pick up your tree, post-holiday, for recycling.
PLEASANTON, CA — Boy Scouts of America Troop 941 in Pleasanton is now taking signups for post-holiday Christmas tree removal as part of its annual Christmas Tree Recycling Service Project and Fundraiser.
Signups are being accepted through Jan. 1 at www.troop941.org, and Christmas tree pickups will take place Saturday, Jan. 4.
Last year, a group of 40 scouts and many parent volunteers collected about 1,000 trees weighing in at over 15 tons. Trees are taken to Pleasanton Garbage Service transfer station where they are mulched for reuse by the community.

Funds raised by the project are used by the troop to pay for camping equipment, weekend outings and scouting activities, such as the annual summer camp at Wente Scout Reservation.
As a reminder to the community, the troop only picks up trees from Pleasanton addresses. All trees must be curbside by 8 a.m.; pickups will take place between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Jan. 4. All ornaments, lights and tree stands must be removed from the tree. No flocked are artificial trees can be picked up.
