Beware: Yellow Pages Can Trip You

Even the delivery of Yellow Pages can cause an accident. This is what happened to me this morning.

I went out this morning to put something in the mailbox and right in front of my door, on the doormat, I noticed a Yellow Pages in a plastic bag. I stepped out trying not to step on it, but put my foot on the bag and slipped and fell. I banged my arm on the doorframe and twisted my back and shoulder.

Like many in today’s society I instantly posted the details of my fall on my Facebook page only to get the response, “My babysitter fell too, last night.” So I guess I’m not the only one.

We get lots of flyers and business cards left on the porch that go straight in the garbage, including the yellow pages. I have no idea who leaves them. So, in an effort that this blog post will reach the people who are leaving trip-able items on the porches of Pleasanton, I ask that you just leave them to the side, out of the way. I dread to think that an elderly person would have had the same fall as me. They could have done a lot more damage.

We know to look when stepping out and crossing the road, but I would like to add a suggestion that you look left, right and down before stepping out of your front door if you want to avoid an accident.
