Giants Lead World Series 2-0, Taking the Magic to Detroit

Giants wine Game 2, of the 2012 World Series, taking their magic on the road to Detroit.

The Giants may feel like they are in a fantasy where their pitching is perfect, the outfield is outstanding and their hitters make the most of every situation even a 45 foot bunt that stayed fair.

If it’s a dream, let’s not wake up for at least 2 more games.

The reality is that so far in this series, the Giants pitching has been Disney like perfect.  ATT Park has become the happiest place on earth. According to sports reporter Mike Bauman.  …..”the three keys to winning postseason baseball remain pitching, pitching and pitching. And in the last five games, the Giants have had it.“

Along with the jaw dropping, mystical bunt from Blanco that looked foul but stayed fair, he later admitted, “I wasn't even trying to do that. It was just meant to be."

The enchantment continued with the unbelievable “pigtail play” off the double hit by Delmon Young resulting in the cutoff throw to Scuttaro who got it to Posey in time for the swipe tag at home on Prince Fielder.  Fielder thought it was fair, Leyland thought it was fair. Bochy later said he feared it was fair. But the magical spirits of ATT Park persisted when the steal showed in replay, proved Posey’s tag was before Fielders leg inched over the plate.

When asked if their approach would change in the next games Hunter Pence’s response was "No, absolutely not," You know, we're riding a little bit of a confidence and a momentum and an understanding. I feel like everyone is on the same page, and we're just going out there, playing as hard as we can for each other.”

Their secret mojo; playing like a team, believing they can win as a Team.

Let’s hope the magic will follow them to Detroit.
