Giants win Game 1 in World Series and Pablo Sandoval makes Baseball history with 3 home runs in a single game

 

They say seeing is believing but the fans sitting in ATT Park and the millions of others watching flat screens at home witnessed a mystic, historical moment when third baseman Pablo Sandoval hit 3 home runs in the opening game of this series.

That achievement added him to a list that only had three others: Babe Ruth – 1926, 1928, Reggie Jackson – 1977 and Albert Pujols in 2011.  The honor: Each player hit 3 home runs in a single game of the World Series.

The Giants magical season continues. 

Starting pitcher, Barry Zito's control and dominance at the plate didn’t give the stunned Tigers many options. After their 2011's AL MVP Award and AL Cy Young Award winner, Ace Pitcher Justin Verlander had given up not 1 but 2 homers to the Panda, he mouthed what the rest of the world was thinking “Wow”.

Once again, the Giants achieved this win as a Team, offensively and defensively with huge plays, from Posey, Pagan, Scuttaro, Blanco, Pence, and Lincecum to achieve the 8-3 win.

Renowned Sports reporter Hal Bodley wrote, "For someone who's reporting on his 48th World Series, I keep saying, "I haven't seen that before" or "Can you believe that? … It’s as if this post season has been willed to the Giants…If Reggie is truly Mr. October, then the Giants are the “Team of October”.
