Pleasanton Ridge Will Have Additional Access Entrances and New Trails, Camping Sites.
There will be back country camping site and new picnic areas will also be added.
The East Bay Regional Parks officials have announced changes that will add new entrances, trails and camping sites and expand existing staging areas to enlarge parking lots.
A new access entrance is planned for West Las Positas Boulevard at Foothill Road in Pleasanton with 75 parking spaces.
This new access point to be called "Garmes" staging area, with new trail heads out of this access entrance that will include a trail to the Scenic Tehan Falls.

The park district will enhance The trail head at Dublin Canyon Road at Devany Canyon for people to cycle and walk into the park. A new staging area is also planned for Tyler Ranch near Niles Canyon and Sunol for a 90 car staging area.
The current access entrance for the Pleasanton Ridge located on Foothill Road in Pleasanton will be expanded for another 25 cars. This entrance is heavily used and is the most easy access point for hiking up to the Pleasanton Ridge.

The Pleasanton Ridge is approximately 7,500 acres and runs from Dublin Canyon Road on the north to Sunol on the south.
In order to accommodate users the East Bay Regional Park Service intends to enlarge the trail system from 34 miles to 63 miles.
Trail loops will be added in lower and flatter park areas that are suitable for young children and the elderly. Also planned, are back country camp sites and new picnic areas.
