Representative Mary Hayashi Was a No Show for Her Seminar This Morning in Pleasanton
I had wanted to meet Mary Hayashi to ask if she intended to finish her term or resign from office, and if she really intended to run for the State Senate.

I attended the Pleasanton Senior Scam Stopper Seminar this morning so that I might meet Representative Mary Hayashi.
Upon arrival I was informed by Christopher Parman, District Director, that Mary Hayashi would not be attending the seminar.
Christopher Parman informed me that Mary was in Washington, D.C. today. I asked Cristopher, why did Mary Hayashi's staff inform the public that she would be in attendance for the seminar?

Christopher insisted that her staff never informed any news media that she would be in attendance. I persisted, and he asked for the name of the staff member, and I said I would need to go back and research the story for a name.
After the meeting got started, Christopher announced, "there is an elected official here this morning", and he then introduced Paul Hodges, a Director for the Hayward Parks and Recreation.

I had wanted to meet Mary Hayashi to ask if she intended to finish her term or resign from office, and also if she really intended to run for the State Senate, Unfortunately I never got that opportunity.
There were about 40 seniors in attendance, plus Mary Hayashi's office and Christopher Parman had three other staff members on hand.
The seminar consisted of speakers pointing out a wide range of ongoing scams that target seniors — illegal unlicensed contractors, identity theft, Social Security, and insurance scams.
After the meeting broke up, I spoke with Paul Hodges briefly. He was not ware of the Patch network of local news and events. I explained to him how to navigate to the Castro Valley, San Lorenzo and Pleasanton Patch sites.
