Update:

Pleasanton Police are investigating a report of a bomb threat made to Amador Valley High School Friday morning.
According to Lieutenant Jeffery Bretzing, shortly before 7 a.m. this morning, the principal at Amador Valley High School received an email containing a bomb threat directed to the campus.

“Pleasanton police officers partnered with school staff to evacuate the school campus,” Bretzing said in a statement.

A search of the campus is currently being conducted with the aid of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department’s Bomb Team and dog, Bretzing said.

District officials said the following auto-dialer message was sent to parents before school started this morning:

This morning Amador Valley High School received a bomb threat. Pleasanton Unified School District staff is coordinating with the Pleasanton Police Department. Currently, Amador students are being asked not to attend school until the campus is deemed free of potential threats by the Pleasanton Police Department. All other Pleasanton schools are open and safe for students to attend. We will update our community as more information is available.”

In a statement, school officials said some students were on campus, but were quickly evacuated with the help of AVHS staff and administration as soon as the threat was received.

“Alameda County Bomb Squad is currently on campus. They will sweep the campus and let us know when it is cleared. Then we will determine whether students will be asked to come back to campus and will send out another auto-dialer call to students and parents.”

The school is located at 1155 Santa Rita Road.
