Pursuit of Stolen Car, Crash Closes Pleasanton Road [UPDATED]
Police say one person was arrested.

PLEASANTON, CA: A 35-year-old man is in jail after allegedly leading police officials on a pursuit through Pleasanton in a stolen car.
Pleasanton officers were alerted to a countywide bulletin to be on the lookout for a stolen vehicle driven by a suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon. According to a statement by police, the car was spotted in Pleasanton at about 2:45 p.m.
"Officers spotted the vehicle and attempted to pull it over," police officials said. "After the driver refused to pull over a pursuit began. After several minutes, the pursuit ended in a collision at the intersection of Valley Avenue and Crestline Road."

Officers arrested Christopher Mero at the scene.
The same stolen vehicle was involved in pursuits earlier Thursday with Hayward police and Alameda County sheriff's deputies, Pleasanton police Sgt. Penelope Tamm said.

The collision closed Valley Ave. near Northway Road. for several hours. The road has since reopened.
