Eagle Scout Award for Ananya Garg

Her Eagle Scout project goal was to replace and build four new doors for the stable at Hagemann Ranch for the Livermore Heritage Guild

Ananya Garg completed her Eagle Board of Review and will receive the award at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on August 14, 2026.Ananya is the daughter of Atul and Shilpy Garg of Livermore, California.

She is a member of Troop 2942, sponsored by St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Thanks go to her Scoutmaster, Lorraine Ferguson for her dedication to Scouting and help along the way.

Ananya has been active in Scouting and has held the positions of Scribe, Patrol Leader, Assistant senior Patrol leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and is currently the webmaster for her troop. Scouting has given her to grow as a person, become a better leader, and learn how to work with a team. Through Scouting, she has learned how to take responsibility, help others, contribute to a group during activities, and plan events. She has learned to become more independent because she has learned how to set up camp, cook outdoors, and solve problems when things don’t go exactly as planned.

She also loves going on the campouts and experience so many new things, like camping in the snow, camping at the beach, and backpacking – no two outings are exactly the same. Scouting has given her repeated opportunities to spend time in nature and experience the authentic aspects of it, like seeing all the stars without light pollution or going on a backcountry hike. She has built stronger friendships because working together on campouts, hikes, and challenges brings people closer.

Her Eagle Scout project goal was to replace and build four new doors for the stable at Hagemann Ranch for the Livermore Heritage Guild to provide a more authentic, historical experience at the ranch, while also increasing convenience of the doors themselves. The project took 221 hours for her planning and construction of the project with 38 volunteers from her troop, family and friends. Her supervisor from the ranch was Mr. Jeff Kaskey, who was pleased with the project stated that the new doors are very helpful and working well.
