Burglary Suspect Arrested in Pleasanton After Hiding in Shrubbery
Derrick Dewayne Fields, a 41-year-old resident of Dublin and Oakland, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, according to police.

A suspected burglar was arrested in Pleasanton Thursday morning after trying to hide in a shrub, according to the Pleasanton Police Department. Around 10:40 a.m. Thursday, a witness reported seeing a suspect walking away from several vehicles behind a business. One of the vehicles had been broken into, and the witness later determined that her own vehicle had been broken into as well, according to police.
About an hour later, officers observed a man matching the suspect’s description walking on Stoneridge Drive near Interstate Highway 680. He initially tried to hide in roadside shrubbery, but was detained and found to be in possession of property from the burglarized vehicle, according to police.
