Police Nab 3 Suspected of Using Fraudulent Credit Cards, Stolen IDs at Pleasanton Hotel

Police say the identification had been stolen during car burglaries from around the Bay Area.

Information submitted by Pleasanton Police:

On Feb 12, at 11:09 a.m. Pleasanton Police received a call from the Sheraton Hotel at 5990 Stoneridge Mall Rd. that there was a guest whom they believed was using a fraudulent credit card information and had accumulated over $1,500 dollars in charges.

Sheraton employees were able to contact the victim, who lived out of the state, and discovered they had not given anyone permission to use their information to rent a room at the Sheraton.

Officers arrived and detained three suspects who were in possession of identifications which had been stolen from auto burglaries in communities from around the Bay Area. A search of the rooms and the suspects’ vehicle recovered property believed to have been purchased through fraudulent activities.

The suspects were booked at Santa Rita Jail for charges related to possession of illegal narcotics, warrants, and identity theft.
