Cheap Flu Shots, Free Health Screenings At Pleasanton Walmart

PLEASANTON, CA — Walmart is hoping to help customers get 2020 off to a healthier start with low-cost and free health services offered at a Saturday event.

Health and wellness professionals will be onhand to give inexpensive flu shots and immunizations, and offer health screenings for cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, body mass index and vision, according to a press release from Walmart. There will also be wellness demos and giveaways.

Health officials have warned that this year's flu season began early and has affected larger-than-normal swaths of the population. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that anyone six months or older get a flu shot. Older people can be especially susceptible to the illness.

All Bay Area Walmarts are participating from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., but you can visit the Pleasanton stores at 4501 Rosewood Drive and 3112 Santa Rita Road.
