PLEASANTON, CA — Newborn coyote pups abandoned in a Pleasanton yard were rescued Sunday, police said. A homeowner saved the tiny trio, which are now being cared for by wildlife experts. Police posted an adorable video of the babies on Twitter.
Coyotes, which are often called “Song Dogs,” are native to North America. The nocturnal carnivores generally eat agricultural pests and tend have up to a dozen pups at once. Their breeding season is February to March, according to National Geographic.
