PLEASANTON, CA — Danville Brewing Company has abandoned plans to expand into Pleasanton, the owner confirmed to Pleasanton Weekly.

Owner Marcus Maita told The Weekly that “overall increasing costs for the build out as well as some of the headwinds faced in the industry made us feel that the business just wouldn’t be set up for long term success.”

The brewery announced in late 2023 that it planned to build a 10,000-square foot facility at 3594 Utah Street, near the intersection of Stanley Boulevard and Bernal Avenue. The new facility was primed to feature an approximately 8,100-square-foot beer production and tasting facility, and a 2,000-square-foot covered patio and biergarten, along with parking and landscaping improvements. It was also going to accommodate over 200 people across indoor and outdoor spaces. The outdoor area was going to have firepit seating, two food truck spaces, outdoor games, and a stage platform for live music.

The Pleasanton Planning Commission approved the new location in May 2025, with Commissioner Anurag Jain noting that it would bring new energy to a “very industrial” part of town.
