Diners Donate $1,500 in Tips in Three Hours During Tip-A-Cop Fundraiser

The popular event raises money for Special Olympics athletes in Northern California.

PLEASANTON, CA- The Police Officer’s Association in Pleasanton earned $1,500 in tips during a recent Tip-A-Cop fundraiser at Strizzi’s.

The popular event, which was held on Nov. 20, is coordinated, hosted and staffed entirely by the Pleasanton Police Officer’s Association, which is the independent union representing officers of the Pleasanton Police Department. Officers and sergeants donate their off-duty time several times a year to help make the fundraisers successful. Special Olympics athletes help the officers throughout the night.

In May of 2014, an anonymous, benevolent diner left a $1,000 tip after dining at the fundraiser.
