Mohit Ramesh Kumar Wins Eagle Scout Award

For his Eagle Scout project, his team constructed a drum set flight case for the Amador Valley band program.

Mohit Ramesh Kumar has qualified to become an Eagle Scout and received the award at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor held on July 31, 2024. Mohit is the son of Ramesh Kumar Ramu & Suganya Ramesh Kumar of Pleasanton, Ca. He is a member of Troop 948, sponsored by the Graceway Church. Thanks go to his Scoutmaster, Tim Lester for his dedication to scouting and help along the way.

Mohit has been active in Scouting and has held leadership positions as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Instructor, Quartermaster and Camp Senior Patrol Leader.

Mohit really enjoyed the various camping trips he attended with Troop 948, especially Wente and Advancement Camps. The experiences with his friends where they were surrounded by nature are memories he will forever cherish. Scouting taught him leadership and to be confident in public.

For his Eagle Scout project, his team constructed a drum set flight case for the Amador Valley band program. The flight case holds and protects the drums, cymbals, stands, and other necessary equipment for the drum set, ensuring safe transportation to and from competitions and other events. The project included a team of 15 scouts and leaders for a total of 170 hours.

Mohit is a senior at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton. His interests include Computer Science, Mathematics and Engineering. He is involved in academic research, marching band, Engineering (VEX) Club, tutoring and basketball

His life plans include going to a well-renowned college and pursuing a career in the Computer Science field. He will continue helping his community as much as he can.

To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Scout must be active in their troop, provide leadership, earn 21 merit badges including the areas of citizenship, camping, communications, cooking and lifesaving or emergency preparedness as well as demonstrate that they live by the principles of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. They must also plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project benefiting a religious institution, school, or community group.
