Elementary Schools Receive Free Fair Tickets Through Alameda County Fair’s Gifting Program

Approximately 108,600 tickets were distributed to 194 public schools in Alameda County.

Pleasanton, CA— Elementary school students throughout Alameda County received a free ticket to the 2016 Alameda County Fair this week as part of Summer Learning Fun, a unique gifting program sponsored by the Fair.

“The Fair’s commitment to engaging kids through educational activities can be seen everyday through youth events, competitions and STEAM-themed weekends, as well as an entire building dedicated to showcasing student work,” said Jerome Hoban, Alameda County Fair CEO. “Our hope is that providing a free ticket to all of the K-5 students throughout our community will help them to discover and learn new things over the summer, in a fun environment.”

Approximately 108,600 tickets were distributed to 194 public schools, plus an additional 3,500 tickets to 19 private schools. For the first time, schools in all 17 county districts participated including Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Castro Valley, Dublin, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Newark, New Haven, Oakland, Piedmont, Pleasanton, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, and Sunol.
