Feeling Generous? Show These Tri-Valley Nonprofits Some Love

The Pleasanton Weekly is fundraising for 10 area nonprofits dedicated to health, children, animals, education and more.

TRI-VALLEY, CA — Want to kick off 2020 by giving back to Tri-Valley do-gooders? The Pleasanton Weekly's 18th annual holiday fundraiser for nonprofits is underway through Jan. 15, with proceeds going toward local nonprofits that serve hot meals, provide hospice services, support public schools, and rescue and rehabilitate animals for adoption.

The newspaper has selected 10 nonprofits to receive this year's crop of donations collected as part of its Holiday Fund campaign. The newspaper, a for-profit business, is partnering with nonprofit Silicon Valley Community Foundation to help collect and distribute donations. All manpower is donated, meaning all donations go directly toward the Tri-Valley nonprofits, said Publisher Gina Channell.

The Pleasanton Weekly has donated about $1.3 million in total to local nonprofits through its Holiday Fund over the years, she said. Nonprofits can use the funding for payroll, to pay bills or in any way they choose.
