PLEASANTON, CA — Members of the Pleasanton Public Library can now search for books and manage their accounts online, thanks to a new online catalog service. The catalog allows people to search for newly acquired books, for example, and receive suggestions on things they might like. The service's "My Shelves" function allows people to save titles for future reference.

“We think patrons will enjoy how the new catalog makes it easy to discover new books and movies, connect with like-minded readers, and share favorite titles,” said Tim Johnston, head of the library’s Technical Services division, in a press release from the city.
The service, called BiblioCore, is created by Bibliocommons, a company that creates software for public libraries.
