PLEASANTON, CA — A fire broke out inside a wall at Rubys & Roses restaurant at 855 Main Street in Pleasanton Sunday afternoon, according to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, restaurant owner, the Pulsepoint app, and witness reports. Minor damage was reported, but there were no injuries, according to LPFD Battalion Chief Craig Berchtold and owner Sadaf Shaghasi.
Berchtold told Patch that someone at the restaurant called 911 due to a smell of electricity. Nine engines arrived and used a thermal imaging camera to find a fire inside of a wall near the kitchen. Crews evacuated the restaurant, and shut down Main Street from Del Valle Parkway to Ray Street.
The drywall was cut down, the power and gas were shut off, and crews also knocked down three to four doors in the upstairs, Berchtold said. Pulsepoint reported the case closed at 8:04 p.m.
