Fire Reported After Pleasanton Power Outage Monday

The fire department used a bulldozer to knock down the burning tree.

PLEASANTON, CA — A power outage may be to blame for a small fire that sparked in a tree and spread to nearby vegetation in Pleasanton Monday afternoon, fire officials said. The blaze was reported in 1700 block of Laguna Creek Lane just after 3 p.m.

Firefighters contained the fire to about a half acre within 15 minutes of arriving, according to officials.

“The fire came in shortly after a power outage in the city,” Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Battalion Chief Aaron Lacey told Patch. “Unsure if this was the cause, but high voltage lines were in the area.”
