Foothill High Graduate Joins Police Force

PLEASANTON, CA — Two new officers recently joined the Pleasanton Police Department. Stephen (Sam) Akacsos, a Foothill High graduate, and Brian Jewell, a Livermore High alumnus, graduated from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Regional Training Center on Tuesday, March 14, 2017.

Sergeant Larry Cox, who has been with the department since 2001, was promoted to the rank of Police Lieutenant. Officer Jason Knight joined the force in 2004, and was promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant.

Akacsos and Jewell will participate in a field training program before they hit the streets of Pleasanton on their own. The police department celebrated the new officers and promotions with a badge pinning ceremony on March 15.
