Two weeks ago on a routine 'Foodnearu' "cold call" (sales speak for walking into a business without an appointment and trying to sell your product...) I met Alex Chung. Alex owns Zakoro Sushi in Pleasanton. He is the epitome of the hands on owner. If you venture into Zakuro, you will meet Alex, he is very young (By ownership standards) confident and extremely affable.
Now 'cold calls' can be difficult at times as anyone in sales will tell you, and a good sales person has to have very very thick skin. (Now I know what those Latter Day Saints guys with the white shirts, tie and bibles feel like, no offense meant) some people see a salesperson coming and clam up faster than a Lindsey Lohan relapse.
So much for the travails of sales...
Back to Alex and Zakuro Sushi. I advise you to Yelp Zakuro, you will see "very good" to "outstanding" reviews. Alex is the reason. The man really loves his work and it shows in every order. I see alex as the artist, and his Sushi as the canvas. Go to our website www.foodnearu.com click on the Zakuro menu and look at the photo images. I swear the pictures make you drool! And when you actually taste his creations, you will understand why we at 'Foodnearu' were so happy that he agreed to partner with us.
By the way, the entire reason for talking about the difficulty of a 'cold call' was not for pity sake, but to simply talk about the way Alex treated us, the way Alex treats everyone, customer or not. He is a very engaging fellow, full of curiosity and easy with a smile, yet very focused very intelligent. The man has integrity and that is a word too seldom used anymore.
So if you decide to make the trip to Zakuro Sushi 6700 Santa Rita Rd. Pleasanton, all your tastebuds will thank you. And if you decide to let 'Foodnearu' deliver Zakuro to your office/home/or hotel, we will thank you too!!!
Happy holidays to all, from the gang at 'Foodnearu' !!!
