Goodguys Cancels 'All American Get-Together' In Pleasanton

PLEASANTON, CA — Goodguys 38th All American Get-Together is the latest to join the growing list of events being scrapped throughout the Bay Area due to worries related to the new coronavirus.

The spring car show and swap meet, an annual two-day extravaganza that draws attendees from throughout the region, was planned Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.

Goodguys Rod & Custom Association made its official announcement today, a cancellation in keeping with the fairgrounds' new ban that runs through the end of March on gatherings with more than 250 people, an effort to thwart the spread of COVID-19.

"The decision is based on the mandate we received yesterday from the County of Alameda prohibiting mass gatherings on county facilities stemming directly from the rising health risks associated with the COVID-19 virus," Goodguys representatives said. "While this is disappointing news for local automotive enthusiasts, our business partners across northern California and our staff, the health and safety of our event attendees and community cannot be compromised."

The organization said it hopes to return to the Pleasanton fairgrounds May 30-31 for the 27th Goodguys Summer Get-Together.

Customers or business partners who purchased tickets, registered vehicles or purchased vendor or swap-meet spaces for the March event will be contacted in the next seven to 10 business days with the option of applying their payments to a future Goodguys event or receiving full refunds, the association said.
