PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton community welcomed two new athletic fields at Harvest Park and Hart middle schools last week. The two new projects were funded by Measure I and cost a total of $20.7 million, school officials said.

Both new projects include:

  • Synthetic turf athletic fields
  • 400-meter all-weather tracks
  • Natural grass areas
  • Field event areas
  • Improved circulation and landscaping
  • Additional activity spaces

The fields both support multiple sports, including football, soccer, lacrosse, cricket, physical education, and year-round student use.

“With the completion of the Harvest Park and Hart projects, all three PUSD middle schools now have exceptional athletic facilities that support physical education, athletics, wellness, and year-round activity. It is exciting to see this districtwide vision become a reality – creating high-quality spaces for our students while also serving as valuable resources for the broader Pleasanton community,” PUSD Superintendent Dr. Maurice Ghysels said in a statement.

In April, the district broke ground on the Educational Options Center, a $47 million project to support Village High School, Pleasanton Virtual Academy, and Adult Transition Options.. The project, which is also funded by Measure I, replaces existing facilities with three new one-story buildings that will feature a number of flexible learning environments for non-traditional students.
