Host Family Needed for French Exchange Student this Winter--Interested?

We're looking for a third family to apply to host an exchange student for a few months this coming Winter...Want to learn more?

We’re looking for a third family to apply to host an exchange student this coming spring, for part of the student’s nearly year-long stay here in Pleasanton. This student, a 16 year old from France, will be attending Foothill High School. We have the first family (summer to fall) and the third family (spring to summer) all set. Timing for *this* host family would be roughly Thanksgiving to the Springtime.

What are the benefits? There too many to list, but some of them learning about a foreign country and culture, and teaching about your own. How about learning a bit about a language you don’t speak, and “broadening your horizons?” All very possible!

A host family is a vital part of the cultural exchange, immersing the student in a variety of activities while in the host country. The host family plays a large role in offering the student a view of another country and gains the opportunity to learn about a new culture from a young leader.

Hosting is a tremendous responsibility and experience in which you can share in a young person’s hopes and dreams and develop a lifelong connection with a student and family from another country. It can be challenging to help a young person transition to a new culture and ease into the surroundings but the rewards are immeasurable.

Host families in the Youth Exchange program may include young children, older children, or no children at all.
