LPFD Hosting 9/11 Ceremony

PLEASANTON, CA — The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department is hosting a ceremony Friday to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

The ceremony will take place Friday at 9:45 a.m. at Station 1 at 3560 Nevada Street in Pleasanton.

“The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department invites our community to join us as we pause to remember the lives lost, honor the bravery and sacrifice of first responders, and reflect on a day that forever changed our nation,” the department said.

Elsewhere in the Tri-Valley, Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert and the Alameda County Fire Department will host a ceremony at the Alameda County Fairgrounds Amphitheater Friday morning at 9:30 a.m.. The ceremony will feature speakers personally affected by 9/11, a presentation of colors, the singing of the national anthem, Call of the Bell, rifle salute, and Taps. See here to RSVP by Thursday.

The Exchange Club of the San Ramon Valley is also sponsoring a ceremony at Oak Hill Park in Danville Friday from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. featuring remarks from a retired military colonel, Gold Star families, a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attacks, and several local departments and organizations.
