Mariachi, Folk Music, Fan Dances: Pleasanton Honors Its Diversity
Korean, Chinese, Jewish, Indian traditions and more will be spotlighted at an annual Pleasanton event.

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton will pay homage to its great diversity at the annual Pleasanton Celebrates with Traditions of Many Cultures event.
Visitors can learn about Serbia, Korea, Vietnam, Russia, China, Malaysia, Armenia, Japan, India, the U.S., Native Americans and Mexico at interactive booths during the event. There will be Korean fan dancing, Russian folk dancing, Native American storytelling, Chinese Kung Fu, traditional Indian dancing, Jewish songs and traditional Japanese folk songs, according to a press release from the city.
The Amador High School Choir and Pleasanton's High School Music Collaborative will perform, too.

The event is hosted by the Friends of the Pleasanton Library, the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council and the Pleasanton PTA Council.
The event will be hosted at the Firehouse Arts Center (4444 Railroad Ave.) on Sun., Jan 12 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Performances begin at 2 p.m.
