Museum On Main, Art League Needs Help Making Flags

Museum on Main and the Pleasanton Art League are requesting community assistance in flag making on July 4th.

PLEASANTON, CA - From Museum on Main: Join the Museum on Main and The Pleasanton Art League on Saturday June 30th from 11:00 am- 2:00 pm at the Museum on Main for an American Flag making extravaganza. Participants will work with local artists and Museum on Main staff to create an American flag using paper, crayons, glue, and creativity. They will be able to choose from a wide variety of historic American Flags for inspiration and learn about the history and symbolism of Old Glory.

Each flag made will be laminated and displayed in front of the Museum on Main from July 1st- July 4th. “The goal is to create a community driven piece of temporary public art to celebrate the 4th of July,” notes Museum on Main Education Director, Sarah Schaefer. “We are so excited to offer this new and unique way to celebrate our independence, learn about the American flag, engage with our community’s many talented artists, and be part of a public art installation,” adds Schaefer. This program is free and will occur on the Museum on Main’s front lawn. Participants will be able to pick up their flags at the Museum on Main from July 5th- July 8th. We hope you will come and help us prepare for America’s birthday!
