National Charity League Announces Annual Membership Drive

The Pleasanton Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. (NCL), the nation’s premier mother-daughter volunteer organization, has started its annual membership drive. Membership is open to women with daughters currently in the 6th grade who reside in Pleasanton. The chapter currently has approximately 300 members.

“We are excited to welcome new mothers and daughters into our chapter. Our aim is to develop leadership skills and a community service mindset in young women, while also strengthening the mother-daughter bond,” said Wendy Costanzo, NCL Pleasanton chapter president.

The Pleasanton Chapter’s mother-daughter teams volunteered more than 7,400 hours in the 2019-2020 year for 33 local philanthropies including Hively, Meals on Wheels, Open Heart Kitchen, PUSD, Fertile GroundWorks and the Pleasanton Senior Center, among others. Recent activities include making Halloween-themed crafts for Pleasanton seniors, gardening at Fertile GroundWorks and making facemasks for John Muir Hospital and Open Heart Kitchen.

Timeline: Applications for membership are only accepted during the Annual Membership Drive from October through January 15 each year.

Eligibility: A prospective member shall reside within Pleasanton and have a daughter currently in the 6th grade.

Prospective Member Meeting: Interested mothers are encouraged to attend one of the prospective member meetings, held via Zoom.
