The Pleasanton PTA Council Special Needs Committee presents a free parent event:
Managing Your Child’s IEP (Individual Education Plan)
This presentation is intended for parents and caregivers of students with special needs who want powerful and pragmatic tools to help their child succeed by managing the IEP (Individual Education Program) process. Topics to be covered include:

• Finding accommodations that empower and promote independence
• Collaborating successfully with staff in the IEP process
• Promoting long-term success through IEP development and management
As the Special Needs Liaison for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District from 2007-2013, Todd Gary supported families of children with special needs, as well as the staff that serve them, by providing education, training, facilitation and dispute resolution. Todd is a parent of a child with special needs, and a practicing advocate and attorney.

The Pleasanton PTA Council Special Needs Committee defines “special needs” broadly - as applying to any child with learning or processing differences, physical disabilities, speech & language difficulties, social or emotional issues, etc., as well as gifted learners.
